Job Overview:

Ivans, a division of Applied Systems, is currently searching for a Full Stack Developer (Golang / Python / JavaScript) who wants to help support the architecture, design, and development of web applications and processes for the insurance industry. You will work primarily with the Architecture and Engineering teams that design and maintain cloud architecture, automated processes, web applications, and analytic solutions. You will be responsible for developing and iterating a marketing solution that integrates with multiple Applied Systems products.


What You’ll Do
  • Become a dedicated participant of our architecture team.
  • Participate in weekly stand-ups in an Agile environment with both local and remote employees
  • Work with team to design and implement software utilizing Object Oriented principles, design patterns, and testing practices
  • Design user-based interactions through effective front-end architecture
  • Design and implement RESTful services and APIs
  • Review code written by peers, focusing on readability and efficiency
  • Integrate with 3rd party APIs (both REST and SOAP)
  • Ensure the entire stack is designed and built for security, speed, and scalability
  • Mentor and guide junior level developers
What You’ll Need to Succeed
We’re looking for someone who:
  • Can work remotely or from an Ivans office
  • Can work independently or in a team environment
  • Is interested in working with an adaptive multi-discipline team with a focus towards emerging architectures for modern enterprise and data infrastructures.
Your experience should include some or all of the following:
  • 5+ years of experience using Golang or Python, JavaScript/Typescript, HTML, and CSS
  • Strong understanding of Azure or AWS or GCP
  • Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques and tools
  • Proficiency with JavaScript frameworks such as React and AngularJS.
  • Proficiency with Python backend web frameworks like Django, Flask, and FastAPI.
  • Experience with databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL
  • Experience with microservice architecture, event-driven programming, and async design
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD best practices
  • Experience with Big Query, Data Fusion, Data Flow, or ETL Processes is a plus.
  • Experience with automated processes
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of Information Science, Computer Science, or related disciplines.

Additionally, you may have:

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, Kanban a plus
  • Understanding and implementation of security and data protection
  • Strong understanding of Azure or AWS or GCP
  • Familiar with Tableau, Looker, or other BI Tooling
  • Prior experience in the Insurance industry
